  • Bird lady

Mon 09 Jan 2023 Mrs Hutchins

We welcomed The Bird lady to school on Thursday afternoon (January 5th) to show us some of the birds she looks after. The children all had time in the hall hearing about how the birds are looked after, what they eat and facts about each type of birds, including the 2 types of kestrel and owls she brought to show. They were beautiful and the children all enjoyed seeing and hearing about them. Take a look at the class webpages for more pictures as all the children held the birds themselves.

  • SIAMS

Tue 13 Dec 2022 Mrs Hutchins

We were visited by Mrs Ali Rice on Tuesday 6th November for our latest SIAMS and we are very pleased to say we are GOOD across all categories of inspection.

The inspection report in in our school section for you to read in full.

A small selection of highlights include comments in the report such as

The recently reviewed and renewed Christian vision permeates this warm and engaging rural village school.

this is a compassionate and vibrant community where pupils and adults thrive and a love of learning grows.

Leaders confidently articulate how the vision underpins their commitment to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of all. The innovative creation of the peace room results in a beautiful, calm and reflective space. This sanctuary, at the heart of the school, meets the needs of vulnerable pupils and enhances support for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). This is a place where barriers to learning are overcome.

The desire to grow a love of learning results in the school investing into strong and mutually beneficial partnerships. These relationships promote the vision and are highly valued by leaders

Leaders constantly review the curriculum and consider how it leads to pupil progress and flourishing. Consequently, the wider curriculum makes a considerable impact on pupils’ character development.

Leaders and clergy have a wealth of spiritual knowledge and articulate this passionately. The school are keen to further utilise this rich expertise to develop a shared understanding of spirituality

  • Queen Elizabeth II passing

    Fri 09 Sep 2022

After the sad news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II yesterday I am sure you will extent with us our thoughts and prayers to the members of the Royal family as they mourn the life of their Mother, grandmother and their Queen. We have had a Worship today to mark her passing and will be then celebrating her life over the next days and weeks to mark the contribution she gave to our country and the world.

    Prayer for the Queen

    Gracious God, we give thanks

for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth,

for her faith and her dedication to duty.

Bless our nation as we mourn her death

    and may her example continue to inspire us;

    Through Jesus Christ our Lord.

    Amen

The children will have the opportunity to talk and reflect on her life as Queen. Please look out for further details in the days and weeks to come, this includes information about if we are required to close as a mark of respect. I will of course let you know as soon as we are made aware of the arrangements.
