One of our pupils told us all about the German festival of Krampusnacht celebrated on the 5th of December in Germany and Austria. She kindly brought in some biscuits in the shape of Krampus and Nicholaus. We learnt that traditionally the children might receive a biscuit or stone in their boot dependant on their behaviour. The biscuit, a reward for good choices, and the stone would be a reminder to improve their ways. It was very interesting to learn a tradition from another country.
