School Brochure 2021

Welcome from our Headteacher

Dear Parent/Carer and friends of school,

On behalf of the Governors and staff may I extend to you a warm welcome to Cockerham Parochial Church of England Primary School.

We are a rural church school with  a distinctive Christian ethos and close links with St Michael's Church and the local community. Cockerham School works in close partnership with parents as we recognise the vital importance of a positive and mutually supportive link between school and home. Our Vision for providing a place 'where the love of learning grows' is lived out daily and in all we do both in the classroom and outside in our wonderful grounds.

Our vision for

Growing in knowledge

Growing in faith

Growing in God's love

Philippians 4:13 " I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me"

We aim to provide a happy, caring, safe and stimulating learning environment where positive attitudes are fostered and where your child will develop to their full potential. Cockerham School strives for excellence, and values achievement, through high quality teaching and learning within a creative and supportive learning environment. Pupil achievement and progress is carefully monitored. Every child is treated as an individual and the needs of everyone are considered. Our children are encouraged to respect their own faith and those of others in our caring Christian environment.

Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening. We welcome your involvement in all aspects of school life. Your help and support play a vital part in the education of your child. We are always happy to talk to you about your child's achievements and progress.  Weekly newsletters and our school website will keep you up to date with school activities. We use the APPs Seesaw and Tapestry to communicate with parents and this also allows us to share the children's work and successes with you.

We look forward to working together with you and your children on a basis of mutual respect to help our children become confident, independent thinkers and learners, prepared for a future place in society.

I look forward to welcoming you and your child.

With kind regards

Mrs K Hutchins
