  • Welly Wednesday 1

Wed 20 Oct 2021 Mrs Hutchins

Look at our first Welly Wednesday. Everyone in school took part and we started with a Welly Wednesday Worship on the playground. We created 2 new prayer areas which are already in use and what a difference everyone has made to our school grounds; new labyrinth, planters full of beautiful flowers and bulbs ready for spring; areas tidy and allocated for classes and even recycled bamboo and willow crosses were made for our prayer garden.

We all had a great time working well together Growing in knowledge, faith and God's love and showing what a special place Cockerham school is and what a fabulous team we are part of here at school.

  • Reception Coffee morning

    Wed 06 Oct 2021

Reception had a lovely afternoon with parents coming to see their children in school. The children sang Five Little Ducks and Five Speckled Frogs to their Mums, Dads and grandparents. The children decorated biscuits and gave them to parents. They also decorated the top to the jars of chutney that Mrs. Foy had made from the fruit grown in our school grounds.

    We had a super afternoon.

It is amazing to write this newsletter after being welcomed permanently to the school family as Headteacher. Thank you to all those who have congratulated me and said such lovely and supportive comments. It is a privilege to join you all at school and the whole community in Cockerham. I am very much looking forward to the exciting times we have ahead; continuing and growing the life of school and providing the children with experiences, challenges, learning and skills at each stage of their development.

The school photographer came today and we are all looking forward to seeing the wonderful pictures of the children.

Advance warning- On October 20th we will be having our first ‘Welly Wednesday’ at school. This will be part of our work and refresh of the school vision. More details to follow but in the mean while please keep an eye out on getting wellies or suitable footwear for your child to use as we will be outside in the school grounds working and things might bet muddy, wet and messy! No NEW wellies need to be bought or other footwear. If you have any old wellies that you no longer need/wear or use please send them into school for others so we have spares!

Congratulations to Caroline Hoyles and Alysia Parkin for completing the Great Manchester Run. Well done ladies, a fantastic achievement.

School are collecting Morrison’s vouchers for free garden equipment so please send them in with your child.
