Robins Class
What caused the Great Fire to spread so quickly?
We learnt about people who help us and went on a Fire Brigade picture hunt and sorted them into past and present. We had a visit from Ratty from the past who tasked us with working as historians to find out what the big event was which changed London in the past. We examined museum artefacts, pictures and writing from The Great Fire of London. We re-enacted the Great Fire on a large map on the playground. The children were flames and wind blowers causing the fire to spread. We engulfed St. Paul’s Cathedral and lots of houses as we spread, but we didn’t travel over the River Thames. We made human water-bucket chains to put out the teacher who was a flame and role-played using fire-hooks to pull down houses to create a fire break.
